Plover House Washing, Driveways and Decks
Plover is the Portage County village just south of Stevens Point, about 35 miles east of our Marshfield shop. Its houses are mostly recent, and the ground under them is unusual.
Sand, water and a trout stream
Plover sits on a glacial outwash plain in Wisconsin's Central Sands region: deep sandy soils over a high water table. The Wisconsin River forms the village's western edge, and the Little Plover River, a spring-fed Class I trout stream, runs through the middle of it.
That is a good reason to care about what runs off a house during a wash. The solutions in our house washing are biodegradable and safe for your gardens, pets and local wildlife, and before we clean a roof we protect the plants and outdoor furniture around the house.
A young village
More than a third of Plover's homes went up in 2000 or later, and only about 3 percent date from before 1960. Half were built before about 1993, among the newest in our service area.
Newer homes still get dirty, and mildew still grows on walls behind trees and shrubs. What a newer house does not need is anything aggressive, so the wash stays gentle.
Driveways, patios and decks
Our power washing is meant for driveways, patios, sidewalks and curbs, and the concrete comes up evenly.
Decks are wood or composite, and we clean both. We start with an inspection, use gentle soft washing so the boards are not damaged, and can add a sealant if you ask for one.
Weather notes
Plover shares a weather station with Stevens Point; the station, about 4 miles away, averages about 49 inches of snow and about 72 days a year with a tenth of an inch or more of rain or melted snow. That is plenty of wet days for a shaded wall to stay damp.
Businesses in the village are welcome too.
